- Product specialists with genuine knowledge of home decor materials and products
- Writers with documented expertise in specific design styles such as Farmhouse, Japandi, Boho, or Mid-Century Modern
We do not publish content from writers with no relevant home decor experience, regardless of general writing credentials.
What We Publish
Every guest article published on The Decor Root must meet the following requirements:
Content Standards
- Fully original content written exclusively for The Decor Root and not published anywhere else
- Minimum 1,000 words with a strong, well-structured argument or idea set
- Practical, actionable advice that real American homeowners can apply immediately
- Conversational and warm tone — the way a knowledgeable friend would explain something
- No promotional language, brand plugs, or product endorsements hidden inside editorial content
Format Standards
- Clear H2 and H3 heading structure throughout the article
- Short paragraphs, no more than three to four sentences per paragraph
- At least three high-quality images provided with the submission (minimum 1200px wide)
- Proper image credit and usage rights confirmed by the contributor
- At least two internal links to existing Decor Root guides
Technical Standards
- Submitted as a Google Doc shared with edit access, or as a Word document attachment
- Images submitted separately as full-resolution files, not embedded in the document
- ALT text suggestions provided for every image

How to Submit a Pitch
Do not send completed articles before receiving pitch approval. To submit a pitch, use our Contact page with the subject line: Guest Post Pitch, [Your Proposed Title].
Your pitch should include:
- Your full name and a two-sentence bio
- Your proposed article title and a three to four-sentence summary
- Links to two or three published writing samples relevant to home decor
- Any professional credentials or relevant experience
- A brief explanation of why this topic serves The Decor Root’s audience
We review all pitches within seven to ten business days and respond to those that are a strong fit.

We do not accept AI-generated articles submitted as original writing. We do not accept articles that have been previously published on other websites or platforms. We do not offer payment for guest contributions at this time. Paid placements and link insertions are handled through our Advertise page.
